Ive been thinking about this for awhile now, under what circumstances would you have to or consider selling a gt and how picky would you be of the individual purchasing it???

For me it would be my 70 the reason would be needing money for something and it would only go to a collector so i know it would get a good home, an it wouldn't go cheap.

For me it would depend on which gt it is. I have sold a few that where in average condition and had no problem selling them because I got the price I wanted for them. After that the new owner is free to do anything they want with it.

On the other hand I have a few that I would like to sell but won't unless I find the right person. The main being my Bolens 853. I will only sell this one to someone who I know will take care of it because of how well it has been card for and how nice it still is.

I've had a few I've sold and the reasons simple. I can no longer stand it and almost have more in it than it is worth.

However, there is a group I will not sell unless I get the right person.

Only 2 reasons......I needed the cash, and it wasn't a Bush Hog!  And once I sell something, I try to put it out of my mind, as it doesn't belong to me any longer.

Let's see, I've sold a few in the last few years. Reasons why........

Too small for 2.5 acres, no attachments other than a mower deck.

I hated it.

Manual lift, when I had another with electric lift.

Too big for 2.5 acres.

It was gas powered, and I had a diesel to use.

And, (the one guaranteed to make you roll your eyes) the carb and I were locked in a 'to the death' battle, and I was considering using a 2 lb hammer to fine tune it.

That's why I'm down to one tractor around here. :rolling:

Owning only one Gt, I can only see selling it if I find a suitable (read more power) replacement in the same or better condition. Otherwise no sales from me.

I've only sold 1 Bolens in my years of collecting and have regretted it ever since.

I vowed to never sell another Bolens after that!

Not enough room would be high on my list. Upgrading to something better maybe. I'm not really a collector but I like to work on them and have them looking and working good. Selling one I don't use to get one that I want to rebuild would be another reason. There are so many nice machines out there to try.

Sold my old Case 195 to a fine gentleman... Sort of miss the tractor at times, Sellers remorse I suppose. I knew it was going to get neglected and not used anymore so it went to a place that it could be appreciated .

Your all going to ban me for saying this.. but.. They are only machines.. They come and go as fast as a bad rash from what JS5020 tells me... I've sold a 317,sold a 120, sold a 140h3, sold all kinds of implements for those machines. Sold a 2210 with a hoe , loader, mower, tiller. Sold a 4520 with loader. Again.. it's just iron.. There are more if ya really want them back..  Why did i sell.. some times money. some times room.. some times cheesed me off and needed it out of my sight before i started the dozer and ran em over.  Just iron.. some worked. some worked on making me old before my time..

Updating to a better unit

More room and not used much

DONE with it, time to move on to next project.  Once they are done, no fun just looking at them, and they take up space!

Wife's Nagging!

Thought it was gonna be good one, wasn't, p'd me off, get it out of my sight or Site works too.

Like to try different brands and see what the draw is to them.

I guess it really boils down to whether your a "Collector" or not or if you just have them as "Project's" or Actually use them as workers.

1-need the room
2- don't need 6 of the same ones - refer back to 1
3- cash to buy a better one or model I don't have- refer back to 1
4-time- only have some much time to work on these GT's

Do I have sellers remorse some times? Yes, but for me I can only handle so many projects. So at some point something has to go.
My wife reminds me some times my things own me rather than me owning them- only so much spare time to allow on my hobbies, home, and family.

But I don't like selling any thing unless it is wore out, broken beyond repair, or newer model is better.
