Just got off the phone with Dad. They still don't know what is the trouble, but they have eliminated several types of cancer and a few other potentials by running more tests. The next battery of tests begin on Monday, they are trying to figure it out by eliminating what it isn't.

Thanks for your continued good wishes.

They are still running tests, trying to find out what is going on. The blood loss and low production count could be viral, bacterial or an issue with the marrow... They will continue to run tests to find out what is what, but he has more color in his cheeks and is starting to get his humor back. He is still really weak and the cold he is suffering from isnt helping that, but one thing at a time...

Thanks guys, it means a lot to have you rooting for him. He says to tell you all thank you.

When I saw this post Alan I was tempted to reply right away, but I wanted to see what the tests showed. My Mom has been hospitalized twice in the last two years for low blood count. All types of tests were done and nothing showed a reason for blood loss. The doctor did say that as we get older, the bone marrow which  helps with replacing blood cells does not always do its job as well. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I had the pleasure of meeting your folks at your club's last Plow Day. Such wonderful people.

We have gone thru lots more tests. We got the results of one back just the other day with some news but not enough answers.
Without going into a lot of detail and not be able to answer questions (as we don't have them yet) there is a follow up meeting with a doctor in Pittsburgh to go over prognosis and options. This could be Good, Bad, or Very Bad news.

I would appreciate it if you all could send my Dad and Mom some moral support and prayers for us getting the news we are hoping for.

This could be a long road, I may be asking for a lot of prayers over the next while, so I will say, in advance, thank you very much and Bless you all. -Alan
