Comfort and peace be with you and yours, may Dad also know he's surrounded in love and his efforts in life were not in vain.

Take care of each other.

Dad passed last nite around 11:00 PM. He isn't suffering any more.
He so enjoyed hearing of you guy's antics and projects, he felt he knew many of you personally. We would often talk about something on the site while we had a cup of coffee or ate supper.
Hosting the little after-plow day last year was a lot of fun for he and Mom. They often talked about meeting those of you who were able to attend and I know Dad wished he could've done it again.

The members of GTTalk have been so kind with words and well wishes thru this. I can't thank you all enough.
God Bless You All.

It's sad news to hear, Alan, but he suffers no more. I'll be with you in thoughts as you mourn in your loss.

Alan, I am very sorry to hear the news but I am glad he isn't suffering any longer. Please know that if there is anything we can do let us know. The little after plow day plowing we did last year was the most fun I have had at any show. Your mom and dad's hospitality was truly extraordinary and I will always remember that and the fun we had. Please let us know where to send flowers and/or donations. We are still thinking about all of you and praying the man upstairs will give you all the strength needed.

This thread has made my screen blurry the past few days and this AM isn't any better. I'm glad I got to know your dad and I'm grateful for the opportunity he gave me. I just wish he could have seen it completed. I'm sure his memory will live on here. God got a good one there. Thoughts and prayers still go out for you and your mom.

I'm so sorry to hear this but I do take comfort in knowing that his suffering is over.  Actually, it's good that the suffering was short.  That seems funny to say but I think back to the days I sit beside my mother's bedside and prayed for God to just take her and end her suffering.  Never in a million years would I have believed I would have done such a thing but the suffering gets ugly the longer it goes on.  I've witnessed this several times and it never gets easy.  I'm sorry I never got to meet him.  If he's anything like his son, the loss is mine.  May God give you comfort and strength in this time.

 Alan, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know its hard, but I find I've always found it very comforting to think of how wonderful it must be for our loved ones as they are walking the streets of gold, and finally getting to meet they're savior. Our prayers are with you, and your mom during this time.

Alan, I know that at this hour  of your life the pain of lose must be unbearable. I wish that your and your family may draw strength from each other and from love and memories. I can't say anything that can make this better, right now. A time will come when you will remember that Death is not an evil thing. It's a reward. As Paul himself said in Phillipians;

21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;

Be at peace!
