Alan, I'm sorry to hear this.  I'm so glad to hear the nurses are making things easier for your Dad and your family, the last thing you need at this time is to have issues with your Dad's caretakers.

Take care of yourself over the coming days.  You will be the rock for your family, I have no doubt of that.

Alan, sorry to hear of the bad news.

I feel for ya buddy, I went through the loss of my dad Dec 28, 2012. He had a progressive lung disease and it got to the point we all knew there was no return. Spend the time you can with him and make the most of it.

PTL for your nurses making the stay a great one. My sister is a Hospice nurse, she has a gift when it comes to that point of life helping the loved ones get throught the difficult time, great, caring nurses are a gift from God.

Alan, like Grand said, I was hoping we didn't have to go down this road.  I'm truly sorry to hear the bad news, but with so many bad things there is usually something good that comes out and you getting to witness the Nurse's taking care of your Dad surely seems like a true privilege.  As others have said we will continue to keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers and that you may have the strength you need during this dark period in your life.

Alan, I'm shocked to hear of your dads diagnosis and will pray for your Dad and the family.  I've seen those Angels at work before. When my FIL passed away last year there were a couple of them there with him until the end. It really was a comfort to know they were there for him.

My dad had half a lung removed in February (cancer) and I had the exact same feelings/thoughts of the nurses that he had. It takes a special kind of person to do that job and a true ANGEL to do it well.

I'll just pray for your family like I do mine: "God give us peace of mind and the strength to get through what you have planned out for us". And for your dad, I pray that he gets through this without much pain.

Alan, keep in mind all the great times you & your Dad have had together. Revisit some of those times with him as you can. It's da**ed hard to let go of a loved one, but sometimes it is out of your control. So don't get into a "what if I had done this" situation. The good Lord decides when it's time to call folks home. Nothing you can do there! Hold up the memories, as they will help you through this!

I'm so sorry to hear this Alan. My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole

family, and hopefully, by some miracle, your dad's condition improves.

If you need anything, or need to talk, I'm there for you.

Alan's Daddy has taken a turn for the worst and is not doing well at all. Pulse and O2 levels have been dropping all day. PLEASE keep Alan, his Daddy and all of his Family in PRAYERS, they could really use it right now.

Thanks guys. We are at peace with the fact he may not make it home. We were hoping he could finish life where he spent most of it, but that doesn't seem to be his fate.

If you all don't mind shifting prayers from recovery to a painless and easy passing, it would be appreciated. Also, if you have a few words or prayer for strength for Mom. They just celebrated their 50th this past December... She is a rock now, but will need strength in the future.
