Neat find Brian.

Bolens sure made a lot of different products over the years.

Update:

It Runs!!!

Pulled the flywheel today and cleaned up the dirty points. The recoil is sticking a bit and may need some attention so I decided to just use a rope to start it. Found out that this engine operates counter clockwise!

Once I switched the direction of the pull rope she fired right up.

Once the weather breaks I'll give it some more attention

I like it because the paint matches the ridemasters!

With the winds we had today I could barely feel my hands when I took it outside to run it....

Not much to see anyway as it looks the same as when I first got it :D

Congrats on getting it running, it'd be cool to see a video of it running. I traded my Bolens saw to my brother not long ago and he got it running. He had the same problem, dirty points and he had to mess with the recoil some.

Does anyone have the parts list & owners manual for this model?

I seem to have just about every Bolens saw manual except for the model I own! :wallbanging:

I was looking on a sight that I go on to find information on almost every saw made, http://www.acresinte...cturer?OpenView. From looking, your saw more closely resembles the 3800, than the 3500, the shroud could have been replaced. I have to agree that these are very heavy saws, like my brother (Farmerall) said, he traded his "Swifty" to me and I got it running. It fits right in with my Homelite Super Wiz 66 and McCulloch 250 saws, and both are built just as sturdy. And from what I have been experiencing form running it, 16:1 seems to be a little heavy on the oil and would suggest running it with just a little less to cut down on the excess that gets sprayed out the muffler and onto the saw.

Brian, I'm a little late on this thread but glad to learn that you have added another piece of Bolens' history to your collection. I am so glad to know that you got the saw running. Looking forward to updates on your latest addition.

Here's a video and pictures for the guys complaining :D (Cat385B)

Does anyone know the model of the Tillotson carburetor? Or know where the model would be stamped?

Also if anyone has a picture of what the decal on the fuel tank looks like let me know (See picture)

Very cool! Sounds good, but you sure have the bar stuck a long way into the ground... Going to need to sharpen the chain after that ;-)
