Hey gentlemen just arrived here and need help. I bought a power king and don't know the year but, the serial number is 41597 and has a 14 hp kohler with 24" tire on the back and 12's on the front. It does have hydraulics, it has a belly mower with an electric clutch on the engine. I would like to have a rear pto if you can tell what to do about that. also I'm in Texas and have plenty of classic tractor shows around but none that have power kings. Is there some around close I can attend? I'm in east Texas.

All I can say is HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

41597 would be 1977  based on this chart:  http://www.powerking...RIALNUMBERS.htm

If it doesn't still say so on the side of the hood your model number is "2414"  Thats 24 inch rear tires and 14 horsepower Kohler engine.

WELCOME to GTTalk!  Glad you found us!

Welcome to GTtalk, Glad to have another TEXAN here. There are some shows around you, but I don't know if any will have PKs. If you want to drive down to Temple next spring, I think in April, there is a good sized show there. Let me check on the dates of that show.

Rear PT0's are 2000 rpm and hard to come by,expect to pay $400-$500 if you find one.Jerry Frank deals in PK tractors and he is in Taylor.

Rear pto's are hard to find. they have a shaft that runs from just under the front electric pto with a belt and goes back to rear with some hangers and couple bearings involved. Older ones had a gear box involved too to shut it off, but they ran off the clutch flywheel in center of tractor.  They were 2000 rpm rated when full throttle AND go backwards from most other pto's. You would need to find the right bush hog or other brand mower to run on it. Far as a tiller, they had there own shaft and ran to front in similar fashion to hook-up, IF that is what you were looking for in future. Have seen guys that made their own pto shaft, but not sure they worked out that well. Bearings and alignment seemed to be the biggest issue.
