Buying A Deere 285

looking at a deere 285, says it runs funny and needs carb work lol... classic.

 hell take 500 but it has 1200hrs,

50' deck and blower..

 dont know alot about these models not sure if  should pass or not, its 2 hours away.

That'll be a 48" deck, not a 50". The blower will be 38" or 42", and is worth the $500 by itself if you get snow where you live.

That's a nice tractor with a 18hp kawi liquid cooled engine. I'd check out the cooling system before buying. 1200 hrs is quite a lot but if the engine was well maintained and the cooling system is still in good shape it will likely last for quite a while. that would do a nice job with a blower.

My dad runs a jd 345 with a 18hp kawi liquid cooled has 2200 some hours and never a problem. We put metal cam gear in it though. If it has 1200 hrs it most likely has metal cam gear. Its a goid buy I think.

ive decided against it, too far too much to gamble on that engine, ill let someone else scoop it up. its on ontario kijiji ,kawartha lakes area.
