A friend of mine told me about a tractor he had for sell. It's a old Gibson. He said the motor needs a rebuild, it's missing a gas tank, and maybe a couple other parts, but is pretty much all complete. He didn't remember how solid the rims were, but the tractor had been sitting outside for many years. I think he even said he had a plow and another attachment for it. He said he wants 100.00 for it. Is this a good deal? I don't know much about Gibson's.

If it isn't rusted into the ground, then I would give $100 faster than you could blink lol.

I don't know much about them, I do know we have members that own them. And they look similar to the Gard'n Mast'r I have.

Do you know if it has a steering wheel or does it have the tiller steering?? In any case good luck and I do hope you get it!

At $100 it isn't so much about deal or no deal, it is about want or don't.  Do you want it?  Do you have time / space / energy for it?  If not, then it doesn't matter if it is a deal or not.

That said, for $100 you can't go to far wrong.  If it is completely roached, you can always part it out.

Gibsons are always good well made machines that seem to have a good value.  Some came with Wisconsins.  I would buy it if I was in your shoes.

Thanks! He said you steer it with levers. I'm thinking about riding over tomorrow and checking it out

If it's a lever steer, it would be worth it IMHO.  There weren't many of them compared to many other makes (NOT rare, just fewer) and they are unusual machine.  If it isn't total junk, it would be worth the effort to save another one.

If it's not going to take too much to get it up and running, grab it.

I have a Model D. It has tiller steering. It's a hoot to cruise

around on. Some pics would sure help.

Thanks for the pictures. They are the best ones I have seen of a gibson because they show so many good angles. That's a nice looking tractor to.
