I have a David Bradley Super Power walk behind 917-57561. The short story is that the tractor is in good shape, but lacking the original Continental and the hood. I am working on a deal for a Continental that I believe will work (should know tonight) and then I am anxious to get this thing trucking again.

First question is the hood. With their unique style, I know they are worth more than a tractor, but if anyone has a loose hood laying around, I would like to get my grimy paws on it.

Are all hoods generally the same for a DB? Can I get any ol' hood or will I need a specific one?

Second question is to renew something probably already discussed, although I can't find it if it has. I am missing my drive belt. Thanks to Amigatec, I know my part number for a drive belt. 4322M. I see on a past posting to the DB Yahoo Group that they say the official specs are 1/2x40 while the real belts are 1/2x42.

Which is the truth for a Continental equipped Super Power?

Third question. Dimensions on a drive pulley for my Continental. Crank should be the same, but what is the outside diameter for the drive pulley?

Many thanks to Amigatec for posting manuals on his website.

Thanks in advance,
Ben W.

Don, I might work something out with him, once I know what I am looking for.  Thanks for posting that: I saw those on Craigslist as I scrolled around for hoods, but I forgot you were close.

Found this hood. Doesn't look to bad for the price.

Ben, I don't have the answer, but I tweaked the title a little to maybe get a reply a little faster.

There were two types of hoods. One had about 1 inch larger opening for recoil starters. Other than that they were identical.

I think I have a hood that "will work" for now.  Thanks to everyone who replied!

I still need to know the outer diameter of the drive pulley for a Continental on a DB, as well as what the proper length of the belt should be.
