Looks like some modifications are needed to get the axle centered on the the frame.

You should start your own thread an this build others will want to see.

Update

I have a lead on 2 Bush Hog tractors for sale locally.

One I think is a D4-7 and the other a HD-12 ???

I haven't seen them yet, they are outside covered in snow in the back corner of the owners yard.

This is a bit of a long shot but there close, waiting for the snow to melt so I can see what he's got.

Maybe this weekend if the warm weather keeps up and it doesn't snow any more.

if i were you, I'd be there now with a shovel digging them out! Especially in Canada, not too many of them up there.

I think in a couple of weeks the weather will warm up and I can at least get a look at them and find condition and $$$.

I know a guy who has converted a few tractors (including a Ford 8N)  as well as a lot of other things.  He's a member of the EV club in my area.  If you'd like, I could probably put you guys in touch - he's really bright when it comes to this stuff, and could talk for hours and days about it. :)

Well I finally got a look at them and what he has is a T63 and a modified HD12.

Price is too high for me on the T63 and I think a D series tractor would be better for this project.

So the hunt goes on, looks like I have to go south of the boarder to get one.

Any photos? Serial Numbers? What was he asking? I have found a "restored" D4-7 local to me sitting on a shelf on a warehouse. The man feels it's worth $1000 though, and its not even the right color!

UPDATE

Finally got me a D4-10, this was found locally and should do the job, fingers crossed.

As I got it.

Spent some time today removing the not needed parts and here's the starting point.

Somewhere on this thing I got to mount the electric motor, hook it up directly to the input shaft of the trans-axle, and find space for 4 big 12volt batteries.
