New member looking for information on Ford YT18H.

I just purchased this lawn tractor to use as a backup and project to work on/ renew.  Need to do some sandblasting on the deck and replace some bearings and idler pulleys.  The best I can determine tractor was made by Gilson.  I have the original Ford manuals for the 48" mower and tractor.  Mower manual has a parts diagram/parts list but no part no's.

Right now I need a gas cap, old one is in bad shape and cracked.

Can anyone help with a part number or know of one that will fit it.

All information will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

If someone sends me some measurements of what it should be, I can probably get you a replacement.

The gas cap part # is LB740378. New Holland is rather proud of them as they want $95 for it. Not sure how to cross it over.

Here's a mower manual with part #'s for the 63687A &63688C decks.

Thanks guys for the replies.  I saw the complete tank on ebay.  Is that the original type cap?  Mine is a gauge type with float on the cap about 6 " long and the cap measures 2.25" inside dia. on the edge before the threads. Someone has put rtv on the outside of the cap, where the indicator would be, because of leaks and the cap is split.

With those dimensions, someone can surely cross it for you.

I have found several on the internet but I'm not sure how they are measured as far as inside dia.. Do you measure inside the threads or inside the lip? There is at least 1/8" difference.  It's hard to get an exact reading since the cap is split thru the treads and spread a little.  I  may just use a cap with gauge if I can find the actual size.  I have found replacement but $96 is rediculous.

For future reference, Ford YT18H can use a fuel gauge I can sell for $22.10, 1/2 inch short at 5 inches.  Length of gauge should be 5 1/2.

What threads does it have? Standard GT fuel tank? I have a need in the future!

2 1/4, I think it was 5 threads per inch.  As long as you have a plastic tank, it will work.  Steel tanks can use a different thread.
