A local friend told me about a 1256 for sale near my town. After my last purchase I had planed on focusing on my race car, but for $100 anything is worth looking at. My wife and I check it out this morning. The tractor is clean minus a horrible spray paint touch up. Not much rust, and the hood is straight, rear tires are great (might be going on the 1050), and it came with another set of bolens weights. Heres my wife taking it to the shed.

Nice!!!!!! :dancingbanana:

You bought the weights for $100 and the rest was free!

I hate when people do one of those paint jobs. IMO the average Bolens guy would rather have it original and rusty rather than see it painted like that.
It seems like your wife likes Bolens just as much as you do. You better watch out... you may not be able to ride them anymore because the wife will be using them LOL :D

As Brian said, you bought the weights and the rest was tossed in. A no-brainer for sure!!!!!!!!

Thank guys. I know a good deal when I see one.
I want a 1225 but for the right price I dont think I'll find one, so I might try making one using this tractor and the last 1050 I bought. I know it wont be original but Im going to try making it the way Bolens did. Any body have one or good pictures of one?

Im looking for pictures of the shifter area, pto lever area. The 1225 and 1256 both have eaton 10 rear ends and 12hp Wisconsin's. I basiclly want to put the 1050 fender pan on the 1256 but I dont know what the 1225 uses for a park/drive lever or a pto lever
