This week was our first substantial snow fall for the year. Currently, I think I could lose a ruler out back in the yard if I stood it on end, so around a foot give or take.

Got thru an arduous day at work, just on the thought of being able to run the blower for the first time (different blower this year, trying to make the job easier for e SS12)... Get home to find...

IT IS ALREADY DONE!!!!

Ryan got home from school, knew I had back bladed the first snows to make a base for the blower, and decided to get some seat time in for himself.

Twerp did a fine job but took no video (when asked he said he had his hands full, good boy) and I'm surprised he was able to lift the blower as its awkward reaching around the cab.

I'm going to have to wait until next time to play, but now I know he can handle it without me. Sniff. :D

Congratulations to Ryan, because I know many boys wouldn't show that much initiative, even if it was something they liked  to do.

Alan, I think it is all your fault.  If you hadn't encouraged his love for tractors, you could have it all to yourself!

He's a good man. You should be proud.

I guess he wanted it done right. :poke:

And you know, the worst of it is that, there'll be no more

snow this winter, and you missed your only chance at some

seat time.

After spending some time with Ryan the last few plow days, I can honestly say this does not surprise me in the least.  You have a good kid there, even if he does think my tractor is "fancy" (at least he didn't say sexy).  I think we would all like to be disappointed like that once in a while.  Did he at least give you a full detailed report in triplicate as to how the blower worked?

Did you thank him?  You know, you can always go plow out a neighbor if you really need that seat time.

I thanked him and told him the next time was mine!

He got a big smile on his face this morning while I read your replies out loud. Guess he recognized my backhanded attempt at being proud.

Thanks guys.
