MH81 made a great suggestion on uploading these - so I thought I would try attaching them from my computer instead of Facebook. I probably have some extra pictures to share as well - I have more projects than I have time. However, Once I close on the house i'll have some extra space and time to work on stuff... probably won't have money... but at least space lol.

Looks like the Bolens are in good shape.

Why is the fender and seat reversed on the 900 and 850?

Why is the fender and seat reversed on the 900 and 850?

I'm not sure - they've been sitting in the barn my whole life like that. I don't think the fenders or seats are bolted on. The 900 and 850 are complete and could probably run with a little work - the 1050 threw a rod through the block though. I do plan on refurbishing one of these at some point. I want to use the sicklebar mower and the Brinly dump cart (we have two - one is new). I haven't decided which one i'll refurbish.. but I think the 900 would be a pretty cool unit to fix up - although the hood needs some finessing to get the metal grill straight. The 1050 would probably be a good repower candidate - it has a new transmission in it (dad rebuilt it about a year or so before the motor blew - but it's been sitting for YEARS). The 850 was in a garage fire.. but didn't sustain much damage (that how grandpa bought it). The 900 was Pap's 3rd Bolens - he had an early two wheeled, then a Ridemaster, then the 900 - then a 14hp Large Frame, the another unknown Large Frame (Dad couldn't remember which model it was - possibly an 1886?), then the HT20 you see above. The HT20 is completely original. Right now it's awaiting snow duty with my Hydraulic front blade - by the sounds of the weather it may be pushing snow in the next 24 hours.

Thanks for checking out my pictures - hopefully i'll have more to share soon

Nick

Atleast they were stored inside. Worst thing you can do for a machine is get them wet and have them outside.

I think you'll be surprised how good they will look when you wash off the 2'' of dust :D

I think they will clean up as well. You can't tell in the pictures but the 850 and 900 have blocks under them so the tires wouldn't go bad as the air eventually escaped. It'll be awhile before I get around to doing much with them.. although I would like to get the sickle bar mower operational sometime this summer.

I'm guessing the 2 wheel and the Ridemaster were traded back into Dye's tractor sales (my great grandparents). The later model tractors came from Lashley's Tractor Sales in Quaker City Ohio. I wouldn't be surprised if I find some type of ridemaster attachment buried in the barn. It's a two story barn.. and it's packed full of stuff (as if the pictures didn't give that away lol). Pap used to keep his Farmall C, Travel Trailer, 20ft Utility Trailer, and a Dump Truck in the barn - then as some of it was sold.. the spots once occupied became filled with Auction goodies... or junk.. just depends on your perspective I suppose lol.
