Yup, it's this again, need that 5hp vertical shaft Lauson V50-6000~ in any condition for my little Springfield mower. It does not have to run, but can. Completeness doesn't matter, but the more parts on it the better. Have two plans. If it runs, gasoline powered, if it will never run again, gut it, install an electric motor, and have correct look at least. Any help appreciated.

You want a Lauson, right, not a post sale Tecumseh?

That will be a tough one.  I don't see many vertical Lausons these days.

I have what would best be described as a "short block", left over from my restoration of a Bolens Lawn Keeper with a V60.  I got a V50 engine for parts when I bought the Lawn Keeper from the previous owner.  The V50 has the block, valve train, crank, piston/rod, head.  I did however rob the carb, ignition, and engine base for my resto.  This V50 engine was off an Ariens rider.  It's not nearly as old as your Springfield.  Contact me for further details.

Post sale Tecumseh would be ok if it is the same block.

how much difference between "post sale" Tecumseh and the old Lausons? I have an old V60 with the gas tank built into the shroud on the shelf... it ran when I tried it, and put it onto the shelf...may need points cleaned, from sitting  What crank does it have//// diameter. length, threaded external end, keyways. threaded internal end etc?

I think I have a complete one, I have not looked at it in a while.  I remember it being green with a wood pull handle.  If you post some pics, I can be more certain.  I will try to pull mine out and post a pic of it.  If I do, I am sure it would not be missed here.

Thanks

Tim

I have looked and looked thru the motor collection, and I can not find the motor I was thinking of.  If I think of where I put it, I will snatch it up and take a picture.

Here is a pic of what I found.  I know nothing about little vertical motors.  The more I look at it, I am thinking a Clinton.  I was almost sure that when I got it, somebody said it was an old Lauson.  Anyhow, the pic will tell I guess.
