is here in Northern Michigan. The opening day of firearms deer season ( or as it's called here "St. Antlers Day") opens tomorrow state wide. Would just like to say to all that are hunters in our hobby, in whatever state you are in,  to please stay safe out there and hope you have good luck in you hunting. We will be hunting off and on during these two weeks. Muzzeloading opens after the regular firearms closes here and then archery again until the 1st of January 2014. Good Luck and stay safe. Roger.

My BIL got a 5 point deer yesterday late in the day. He sent a pic and sounded pretty happy. Wait til I see him, he's going to get tired of me correcting him every time he tells someone he got a buck. I'll jump in and say 'no, he got a buck and a quarter'.

I haven't went hunting since I started at coal mine 11 years ago.

Last deer I shot was a small 4 point.

I don't know if I could shoot a deer anymore. Such pretty animals

Even better looking when they are feeding your family all winter.. They look great with spuds and carrots beside em..

I'm not into hunting them myself. I like to eat them though, and the herd

needs to be thinned down a bit anyway. It's almost unsafe to drive around

here at dusk.

Good luck with the hunt.

I hope that all that go into the woods are carrying a small survival kit. At the very least: a cigarette lighter, a knife, a huge trash bag, and an emergency space blanket. Good Luck, Rick

The first day of rifle deer season in PA is always the Monday after Thanksgiving. In our part of the state, it's basically a holiday as the schools are closed for the first day and some for the first two days.
