1954 John Deere farm tractor with power steering, 800 series 3pt. hitch, roll-o-matic front end, factory tach, fairly new custom chrome exhaust stack, and a new water pump. Tractor sheet metal is decent with just a couple minor dings as shown in pictures and the left front grille will need to be replaced. No leaks other than the Carb leaks a little, and could probably use a good cleaning, as the tractor runs on quarter choke. Three point works good and all adjustments are free and turn. Three point makes a little noise while lowering, but I think it's just from not being used enough. From what I can tell, both rears and the one front tire are original to the tractor. The other front was replaced at some point before I owned the tractor. The manifold is rusted like all of the two-cylinders, but no holes or leaks that I can find or hear. Tractor just needs a good home, and needs to be either worked, or restored and shown. I hate to part with it, but I just can't justify in keeping it anymore, since the tractor doesn't belong in town.

Selling for $2,400.00 firm

Tractor must be picked up here at my residence in Lititz (Lancaster County) Pennsylvania, as I will not ship. I will accept Cash or a U.S. Postal Money as payment. No paypal or personal checks! If someone else will be picking this up for you, payment must be received before the tractor leaves my residence. Please, no offers. I think my price is fair.

If you are interested in this item, have questions, or need additional pictures, please send me a Personal Message and I'll give you my contact information and help you anyway I can.

Troy, I wish I was close enough.  I'd be on that thing so fast you would find it hard to see me.

I know it, Kenny, and that's a dangerous thing!!  I really shouldn't buy it, since I have tried to stay away from antique tractors (purchasing at least) after the pain I have had trying to sell the two John Deere machines I have.  I can't get rid of them.

Actually, Troy, my primary job when I'm not selling antique parts off my website is with Binkley and Hurst, which is based in Lititz. I ought to see if I can twist an arm to drag that 50 down here.

Here I go again!   Thinking how to buy something I don't need!

Ben,

Let me know if you are serious about this. I have a connection with Binkly & Hurst as well. You may even know him yourself. Does the name Don Hoover sound familiar at all? Let me know.

Don Hoover's name is very familiar, and I believe a connection through him would be worth something at the Lititz store.

I've wanted a Deere horizontal two cylinder for years with a three point hitch.  It would be a work tractor.  I have been trying to steer away from ag tractors, though, since the market isn't the greatest.  I am sitting on two old M series John Deere tractors right now that I can't find anyone interested to buy.

What did the 50 replace in the letter series?

Vintage "M", or newer Big "M"?

I've had an old M and H on my wish list for years.

I have both an M and a MT.  One is a 1948, one is a 1951.

It's a nice tractor boys! If I had really wanted a 50 I would go for it. I'm only 30 minutes and it would be a nice drive for anyone to come around anyway.
