I still can't get over the baffles under there. Amazing that they just don't pack full.

Excellent job bringing it back to life.

Thanks Mike, and I agree, I think this will be around for years to come.

Thank you very much. Its not a very good copy of the original, but it should work well. :D

I have to agree with you there, this deck just looks like it would fill with grass, but I've seen videos of them in action, and they seem to work well. I will be very curious to see what it looks like under there after I've used it a couple times. I'll report back.

I know its been a few days since my last update, but I've been very busy with work. I finally got around to getting the deck, and mule drive painted yesterday. They didn't turn out to bad. Back when I ordered the vinyl decals that say "Gary's Case" for the back of the tractor, they sent me 2, I guess just a bonus deal, so I decided to put the other one on the front of the mule drive. The deck will look better once the decals are on it. Once the spindles from Mike come in, I'll get the deck assembled, but that probabally won't happen until after Christmas, as we're going out of town to spend Christmas with my wife's family. Thanks, and here are a couple pics.

A friend of mine, Terry over at http://www.redoyourhorse.com/ made an absolutely beautiful set of custom decals for the K301 Kohler on my Case. They have the original model, spec, and serial numbers on them. Thanks Terry! I highly recommend Terry for any of your Wheel Horse or Kohler decal needs.

Thanks for the kind words, they are appreciated.

Just got back last night from spending Christmas with all the inlaws, and outlaws (my wifes family). :bigrofl:  Anyway, I got back to find my spindle housings had arrived from Mjoe7. Thanks Mike! The housings are in great shape, and will work well. As Mike had already told me, one of the housings was an older design without the grease fitting, and the holes for attaching to the deck weren't threaded like the other two. It was designed to have nuts underneath. In the interest of having them all be the same, I put thread inserts in the holes, so that they will all fasten the same. I also drilled, and tapped the housing for a 1/8 NPT grease fitting like the other two have. Now the deck will be fully greasable. I'm also installing all new bearings, just to make sure I don't have to mess with this deck for a long time to come. I decided to start with the one that needed the most work first, so haven't rebuilt the other two spindles yet, but here are a couple pics of the first one. Thanks

Matt, those are in nice shape.

One down two to go and Gary's case can be a mowing machine again.

Matt I don't even recognize it. Incredible. I love the threaded Helicoil insert idea. I wish I had thought of that on the one I rebuilt. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks Mike. The holes in the housing were already the correct 25/64 size for the tap in my helicoil kit, which made for a very quick easy install.

I finished rebuilding the other spindles today, and got the deck put back together. I really love that these spindles can be greased!  :D  Still waiting on the bolts that hold the wheels on to come in as, as well as the decals, and a few other pieces, but it will be mowing soon.
