What Fluid And Filter Are Used On A Snapper 1855A Hydro?

I have a Snapper 1855A and it was suggested to me to change the fluid and filter in the hydro Problem is I don't have any real info on the proper fluid to use nor the capacity Any help would be appreciated

Oil can be type F ATF,  Dexron III ATF, or farm tractor type hydraulic/transmission fluid.  10W40 motor oil is also good in hot weather areas or for heavy duty use (recommended in the MF14/16 manual).  I forget the capacity, but I think it's 6+quarts.
