Welcome!

Great looking tractor. For its age that is looking good. I was trying to figure out the decal on the front of the hood. Is that a dealer tag?

Yes, it is a dealer tag. Did some painting on the front end, and decided not to remove it while cleaning it up. The gent that owned it before me bought it brand new in 1977. I have been looking for a beast of a GT for quite awhile, and this one caught my eye. I cant believe how beefy it was built.

It was a bit worn when I got it, but generally it was well maintained. It came with a blower & parts blower, 42" deck which needed many stress cracks welded up, and a tiller which I have since sold. Heres some before pics.

They sure are built heavy. And the great thing is that all the attachments have the same hookup over all the years they didn't change that. My dad has a S-14 that he bought new back in the early 70's. That is what I learned to drive on. And gave me the bug to get my own.

Nice looking GT.
if the rest of the unit looks as good as what we see in the pics, it has been very well cared for.
Thanks for sharing and :welcometogttalk:

Welcome to GTTalk. Check our manuals section for service information on that model. I know there is at least one service manual there that covers a lot of different model numbers.

Hi! I'm not familiar with the Ariens, what is the purpose of the orange box built in front of the engine? It doesn't look like it would add anything to the cooling.

LD, that is where the muffler is in. It goes out the right side.  Also the clutch and drive belts for the mid and front pto are in that area.
