While I was off in the Army, my mother got rid of all of my stuff that she could find. I was especially pissed about my comic book collection from the fifties. I was one of those kids who read them and then put them carefully away in a box to protect them. Over 500 comics from 1957 to 1965. Fortunately, my Boy Scout stuff and Lionel trains survived. I suspect that my dad made her do it. All his stuff was lost while he was off in WWII.

Maybe others have copies of some of your missing pics. It can't hurt to check around. Good Luck, Rick

KennyP and Boyscout, sorry to hear that you lost pictures and other things. When my dad was on his way home from WWII the ship he was on had to make an extra stop on the way back. That made it an extra day long trip. He was taking a shower and while doing so someone stole his duffle bags. The only thing they left him was his Kahkis, shoes, socks, underwear, belt, wallet and his dog tags. The only reason he kept the wallet and dog tags is because he held the wallet in his teeth and was wearing his dog tags during the shower. He told us that he had been bringing home a bunch of things from all the places he had been for my brother ( I didn'y come along until 1949). He had been to England, Italy, Sicily, Africa, and several other places.

Thank you all for your service. Roger.
