No tag on this engine>  I looked in my B&S book, looks like a 80200

series 3 HP.

There's a number somewhere, unless the shroud was replaced.  Its probably painted in so you can't find it easy.  Try the side right above the gas tank.

As already stated, the numbers should be stamped on the shroud. However I do agree with your assessment that it appears to be a 8xxxx series 3hp engine.

With the centrifugal clutch it was probably from a mini bike or go cart.

Thanks,  I'll look a little closer.  There is lots of paint on it,  some one took a spray can

to it and painted it , dirt and all!

I have not found a number on it yet.  It's very lightweight, magnet wont stick to it.

Did B&S make an aluminum block engine?

It does look just like my 80212 Briggs I have on a lawn vacuum.  I also have one startting with 81, but it's an updraft carb, unlike these in-tank ones.
