Went to see Dad this morning & took him some more items he needed.  Visit was short, as they finally came to take him for the colonoscopy.  I couldn't stay till he came back, as they said it would be 2 hours, and my eyelid surgery was about that time.  "Just" after I left the eye place, Dad called & was upset, saying his problems with mom were solved, and it wasn't good.  He was hard to understand, but mentioned a "mass".  So we went on back to the hospital.  Turns out we don't know how bad things could be yet, as they found 3 polyps, 2 smalls, but the 3rd was large & WAS the source of the blood loss.  The size made it only possible to remove 90% of it, but the bleeding IS stopped!  2 days before the cancer tests are back on the polyps removed.   When Dad called, he was still kind of groggy, so he was pretty upset.  Hope & pray tests come back negative.  I will visit Dad again tomorrow after my heart doc checkup. At this point I'm glad they at least stopped the blood loss.

Been a long wild day.  I may be 55, but I feel a lot older at the moment.

As long as they caught it relatively early, the chances are very good that he will be cured, even if it is cancer. That is one that they have done very well with in the last few years.

This has been one draining series of events.  As tired as I am, it's hard to imagine what it's like for Dad.  I may go hit my recliner for a while.  I'll tell ya one thing, a needle in your eyelid stings like a bumble bee sting!

I have been following this thread with updates on my e-mail Daniel. I have continued to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I was sorry to learn of your Dad's most recent setback, but I am glad to hear they were  successful in stopping the bleeding. You have a lot of folks trying to offer support and keep your spirits lifted.

Eyelid surgery was a snap.  Painful getting a shot in one's eyelid, but I took it like a man.  Just got back from my heart doc, then a visit with Dad.  He's doing pretty good, and may get discharged by noon tomorrow.  Even if pathology comes back as cancerous, he likely will be released, then set up something later if there is cancer.

Daniel, We'll add you to the prayer list tonight.

I know how you are feeling, My dad had a mass found in his lung a couple of months ago. They tested it and it came back negative so they treated it like an fungus or infection. After it didn't get any better they tested again and it came back positive for cancer. Last week they took 2/3 of his left lung. When they got in there they found it had spread to the local lymph nodes. He is now stage 3 but hope to be able to treat it with chemo. Right now though he has to heal up from them splitting his ribs and putting a 9" gash under his left arm.

Most of the day has beat me down, both due to just being worn out, but mostly stressed to the max by Dad wanting to go straight back to mom.  But later this afternoon we got the news on the biopsy............
