I think he might enjoy that some, Bill!

I know if it were my Dad I will would love for him to come tell me I'm doing stuff wrong!

Glad to hear all the good news!  Now you might have to fight from keeping him from doing too much!

Yesterday Dad said he's not feeling as well as when he was in rehab.  I'm thinking it's two-fold....one Mom kinda still nags, but not nearly as bad, and 2... I don't think he eats as well at home.  Partly is what Mom likes to get by on, which is not very much, and not always appealing.  I think we'll have to take better food out there regularly from now on.   I take him for blood work at his VA doc Tuesday.

Sorry he isn't moving forward still. Hopefully he can get back into the swing of things soon at home, but I'm sure he will enjoy the additional food and visits from you.

I was just wondering how he was doing.   You may have to bring him some meals that he will enjoy.  May have to keep that trailer idea on one of the closer burners.  At least you are feeling better, so hopefully you will be able to deal with this better.

Your mom sounds so much like my grandmother. Her idea of dinner was a half a chipped ham sandwich and a cup of coffee.

you would starve at her house. My grandpa was the cook.

Same thing at my in-laws. FIL does all the cooking, when he was down with a bad leg infection, my MIL nearly starved them both! Worst of it was, my brother in law was living with them, he just hid out at the barn and ate fast food.

Not sure if you have it down there, but we have a meals on wheel type of thing for the elderly. Not sure of costs, but they will be at least one good meal per day or whatever depending on how you set it up. At least they would be getting one good meal per day.

Yes, he has a lot of Ensure.

No meals on wheels in our area, except the ones we take out there.  My niece took Famous Recipe chicken out yesterday, so they have enough good food to last a few days now.

Yes, even little Hodgenville (10 miles) has one, and Campbellsville (15 miles), where I do most my shopping has one as well, then Greensburg, just 18 miles from here also has one.

Stopped by Mom & Dad's after grandson Case' birthday party.  Party went great by the way.  Then things got even better as Dad is feeling LOTS better today!  Good color, good mood, and Mom was having a good day as well.  GREAT to see dad make progress.  His antibiotics must be working on the urinary infection.  I was last there Friday & he was pale & weak.  Today it was like he was a whole different person.  Hoping/praying it holds!
