He will likely come home tomorrow, BUT, he does have a return of the urinary tract infection.  If it cultures to be sensitive to pill form antibiotics, then he'll be home around noon.  If it will require IV drip, then he might still get to come home tomorrow, but later in the evening.  Been 3 hours tending to all this stuff & Mom's shopping list, and need to feed the cows.  My energy gauge is running low, and I just took Ibuprofin for a bad headache.  Dad is doing good though, just have to get that pesky infection cleaned up.

Good to hear.

Take care of yourself too before you end up laid up. I know how busy you are but you gotta take care of yourself too.

Looks like he is making good progress.  Could the infection be coming from not keeping the bag clean?  If so that might be a problem going forward.  In any case he will be home soon and hopefully all will go well.

That is what I'm thinking, as he's had a lot of the bags coming loose & leaking.  It's E-coli bacteria, so it could be contaminated bags, or even from nurse's hands not being clean when putting bags on.  I have no idea exactly.

I now got word my youngest of my 2 sisters undergoing chemo is back in the hospital.  Her potassium level dropped to dangerous levels.  My other sister undergoing chemo is still in the hospital following permanent colonostomy surgery, but is doing fine.  I've not had time to go see her.  She's 65 miles away in Louisville.  Time is one thing I am extremely short of.

I don't know how you are still functioning! If it not from one direction, it's from another! You, my friend, are one tough cookie!

I'm doing my best, but often it just feels like it's never enough.  Josh gave me a bonus for Christmas though....I get to sleep in tomorrow morning!  Just a short reprieve, but welcomed!   I like to think I'm tough, but I'm not as tough as I once was.  This morning the stress got to my stomach and I had round of heaves (sorry if TMI).  I'm ok at the moment, but yes, it does get to me.  One day at a time, and as one of you guys so well stated, try to take care of one thing at a time.  Problem is when more than 1 thing comes up at a time requiring an immediate fix.  I'm spending most of my time running tending to Dad's or Mom's issues, so things tend to pile onto me.  I always find a way, so I'll keep on hacking away at it.  I've not gotten to make my doctor appointment yet though & need to.  Palpitations have receded quite a bit though, and NO pains associated with them at all.

Glad to hear the Palpitations have receded.  Just don't get lulled into thinking everything is OK.  Let's all hope the new year brings relief to not only you and your family but also all the members that are experiencing problems.

Got word he can come home just before noon tomorrow.  His sensitivity cultures show he will respond to pill form antibiotics, so he can come home earlier.  Have to pick him up some more of his prescriptions soon, just a few days worth left here.

Dad is home in his own chair!  he's getting around fine, just tires easily as expected.  No walker or even cane & does well.  Other than changing his urostomy bags, he can tend to himself pretty much.  Home health will be coming, then likely once he's rested up, he'll return for outpatient physical therapy at the nursing home.
