Sorry I don't have a smart enough phone to post directly, but my buddy Brian kept you guys updated.  Thanks Brian!  Dad is not feeling well, lots of pain.  Due to his blood pressure being low, they don't want to give much pain killer.  When we visited with him, his blood pressure would fluctuate a lot, so we needed to leave so they could get him stabilized so they could start the pain killer asap.    He's doing ok, but they have a breathing tube in & 5 IV's going and during surgery required 2 units of blood.  This will be a tough recovery I am afraid.  He will be in the hospital at least 10 days, then will have home health care for several days as well.  I'll be going up to see him tomorrow, and they say if all goes well tonight, the breathing tube can come out tomorrow.  I figure he'll want his false teeth & eye glasses soon, or at least I hope he does, as that will be a good thing.  Never seen him with a breathing tube in, so it kinda shocked me to see that when I went in.  They had all sorts of monitors going, more than I've been used to seeing.

They asked we all go home for the night so they can easier tend to him. Hard to leave, but whatever is best for him, that's the thing to do!

Hang in there my Friend, It's tough to leave their bed side but it is the best. I went thru the same thing with Dad a few years back and I stayed close in case I was needed, but wasn't in the room with him. They will stay right on top of him and help him along, maybe with Y'all not in the room, he won't have to act so tough for the family. Keep your Spirits up and make sure you eat and rest because you have a while before things return to normal. We are still PRAYING for all Y'all!!

As far as being tough, I gotta say, when I saw the breathing tube, it gave me a weird feeling that swept through me.  Not like fainting or anything, but a very strange almost "out of body" feeling.    Hard to feel tough at that point, but yes, gotta keep things going smooth on the farm and tend to his needs as well.  I'll call up to check on him in a bit.  If he's having problems, I'll head back on up there tonight.  They don't even have a chair in the room to sit in!  Mom asked Dad if he wanted her to stay, he told her no by shaking his head.  She asked if he wanted us to go home & rest, and he shook his head yes, so we all left to allow them to help him.  So hard to do!

Thanks so much for all the support!

Daniel your dad is in my prayers! Many years ago, when I saw my brother in the icu room with the tubes, etc for the first time, I too was shocked. He was in his early 40's when he had a bypass. I can appreciate you feelings. Hard to see our family members this way. Your dad is strong and he will work through this. He has a good family to help in his recovery.

I think Brian said it best, you need to get some rest and make sure you eat properly because it is going to be a while before things return to any kind of normalcy.  I know it was hard for you to leave him but I do know how he feels and with out you all there he can just close his eyes and drift off to some kind of sleep.  We continue to keep you and your family in our thoughts.

Daniel, without seeing you folks, he may just rest. That is what he needs right now. Won't hurt to be down the hall, but let them get him stabilized.  Saying a prayer for you all right now.
