Getting ready to leave work early, got a 3 hour drive to Hocking Hills tonight. We have a open house college day at Hocking College for my son. He's only a sophomore, but he's talked about being a game warden/ park ranger for years now so getting college visit in early to make sure this is what he wants in case he decides to change his mind, we have time to change Jr & Sr classes. Hocking college is  one of top schools in state for this type of outdoor park jobs.

Too bad there will be no hiking or sight seeing, this is all business. Be back tomorrow night!

Later GTT! catch ya on Weds!

Great job Dad! Keep him motivated!!

My folks are/were great but career goals were one thing that they just didn't know how to talk to me about... resulting in a 7 year college career that didn't start till I was 20. Of course I couldn't be in a better place in my life so blooming late is not all that bad.

Man the title throw me.  I thought you were leaving for good!   Glad it is just your family duties.  We are going through the same thing with our granddaughter.  She is trying to pick which college she wants to go to next year.  It is good you are working on his career early on.

Great career choice, but it can be no "walk in the park" (pun intended) very wise to go and see if it's really what he wants. Congrats to you all for going and checking it out.

I'm baaaccckkkk!!!  It was just a quick up and back, no sight seeing in the park this time. Nice 2 1/2-3 hr drive, mostly 2 lane back road/ highway type roads through farm land and small towns.

Sorry if I scared a few of you, :poke:  :D

He has talked about this for a few years, the college had an open house so we decided to go and check it out, most kids there were seniors or had already applied. Good thing we did cause we learned a few good things about his career choice and how it works with their program, gives him time to think and make a good decision too. I went to college for 4 years, decided not to go on to Vet school and then ended up not doing what I wanted, do not want him to do the same and make mistakes I did regarding a career. I never got a career, just ended up in a life job! I am grateful for where God allowed me to be and the money I make, but just not what I had planned. He liked campus and the program so I think he is still excited about it even though he has 2 1/2 more years of high school.

He found out here is a big off road park too, he is already planning on getting a new bike or ATV and taking it with him, crazy kid!

Toomany, we have not seen the castle, know about it, just have never planned it in our trips, maybe someday.
