Just for posterity here, the FF hubs are splined. Good to see you are finding what you need to get this going the way you want.

Ok, gotcha. I had things mixed up there.

It's really easy to get all askew when it comes to some of my projects.  I can go in all sorts of directions, and use parts from many makes.

After milking this morning, I went down to tinker on the HD a bit.  When I went to swap out the left rear hub, it's axle was worse than the other.  Got it welded up, fitted good & all installed good & tight.  Turns out I don't have a pair of rear tire/rim assemblies to stick on it, so for the moment it has a full size Jeep wheel/tire, then a Jeep doughnut spare.  I'll have the new tires hopefully by next weekend so it won't look so funny.  Then I had to take a pair of 40+ year old tires off front rims.  Man did that wear me out.  The tires were about as stiff as the rims!  Ended up using a grinder slicer wheel & just cut the bead on both.  Believe it or not, the tubes were still good, but I took care not to cut into them.  I'll store them out of sunlight & hopefully re-use them.

Nice to see you back at this Hog Daniel. Nice repair too.

What where those 5 bolt tapered hubs, that Brian sent you, off of

originally?

These aren't tapered axles on the "2055".  That tractor is a modified MF1650, so it has straight axles.  The straight axled 6 bolt hubs were off a Wheel Horse.  Which model I don't know.  But I do know the same taper is on both the MF 1655/1855 as on the JB & HD series Hogs.  My JB with the TJD twin engine has MF1655 hubs on it.  I just had to grind off the lip on the back side of the hubs for axle tube clearance.

The hubs are off a WH D-200 that I parted out years ago and didn't sell the hubs, they were lying on the shelf with the axles still in them that I had to machine out of them.

Here's the thread,

You got any plans for those 12" front rims? I would be interested in them if not.

Sounds like they're yours once I get my other tires mounted.  Tires aren't much good, but I put a new tube in one.   Waiting on new tubes for the 18x8.50/8 tires, as the ones I took out today are a smaller size (16x6.50/8).

That was a great repair on the axles Daniel.

And these old tires can be so much fun trying to get off!

Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see it with the new shoes :dancingbanana:

Sounds like a good therapy ride for you. That engine is a sweet little diesel to be able to start that easily.

Where's the video of you working her?

Not got that video yet, but I will!

Dang, you beat me to it! I would like to get a set of tall skinny tri-ribs for the front of my Kubota.

Put me second in line if Brian decides he doesn't want them.

Just got back from running to town to my tire guy.  Picked up 4 gallons of alcohol for the rear tires.  1 part alcohol to 4 parts water.  May not get to mount them tomorrow, as the ground looks to be drying from the snow we got this morning.  Surely I'll have the strength left to mount them though!  :D

I checked around & the cheapest winter formula windshield washer fluid was over $2/gallon.  Each tire would cost $20 at that rate, and the alcohol is just $10 per tire (2 gallons), so alcohol is 1/2 the price.

The tubes for the front tires say expected delivery tomorrow also.  So at the very least, I'll have all the new shoes (fronts are used new shoes)  on by Thursday evening if not sooner.
