DuncanH ,The 982's uses a different snowthrower than the other cubs and its a 450 model .

I think a 451 model made for the later cyclops supers can be made to work on a 982 with some modifications .

I have a QA-42A snowthrower made for the earlier wide frame GT's on my SGT 982 , it bolts up OK , but with the taller 982 front tires and axle it doesn't quiet lower all the way down .  I also had to do a little modification ( which was a bolt on modification ) to the throwers lift arm .

I had to make it a little longer to clear the front axle .

The QA-42A has a 1/2 inch belt size pulley while the 982 front PTO pulley is made for a 5/8's belt  , they do sell a cast 5/8's pulley to replace the 1/2 inch so that the QA42A can be used on the other 82 series GT cubs like the 583/682/782 etc.

With it mounted on my 982 and lowered its still about an inch above the ground but in my case that's OK since I have a gravel driveway and don't want it throwing gravel anyway , and I use a 54 inch power angle snow blade to cleanup what the thrower doesn't get .
