Antique Baird Beaver tractor built in Stratford CT early 1957, Based on my research this was built April of that year and is 1 of 209 produced for that year.

It has the original Wisconsin motor SD-274 model ACND Size 2 5/8 x2 3/4 including the throttle lever, foot pedal forward -reverse, & Tiller steering.

This is # 4,608 built since the first Baird Beaver was introduced in 1949. This tractor has all Baird badges including serial #'s. I haven't had time to try starting it but motor has compression when turning it over by hand. This tractor also has the front grill attached that can no longer be found and rarely seen together with these tractors $350.

Thanks Brian. I had one of these 30 years ago. Bought it for $35 gave up on trying to get it running and sold it for $40. Thanks, Rick

That style of grill and hood only showed up for a couple of years toward the end of Baird, I believe.  They changed the hood again for awhile after this model.  He has the grill for it, but he's missing the hood.  You can still buy reproduction hoods and grills, as well as a number of other parts.  I wish I still had mine.
