My neighbor "Al" lost his home last night in a fire. He wasn't home at the time, but my BIL (member meangreen) lives next to him & awoke to the blaze. Too late to save anything...total loss. Got his little white convertible too. The worst part is his wife passed away 5 years ago, so he lost all her belongings & things with memories that cannot be replaced. I sure hope he still had insurance coverage. He was up there while I was milking this morning, but gone by the time I got finished to go up there. I don't have his cell phone number to reach him. He does have a motor home he can get by in till he gets back on his feet....once he gets a service pole in to have power.
Sad last several years for him.

Yeah, we complain about the weather, shoes too tight, long lines at checkout counters.

Kinda puts things back into perspective. Double extra bad this time of year, a person can really get in a bad depression without something. Nows the time for friends to help with anything they can, whether it be actual help, or a simple prayer, or somebody to talk to.

That is a shame, I feel bad for the poor guy. If you get a chance to talk to him Dan let him know he has others thinking about him. We all take things for granted.

That is a terrible thing to happen any time, but around the holidays just makes it worse. My heart goes out to him and all those that suffer those kind of tragedies.

Ditto. Please let him know that he'll be in our prayers. I'd be glad to help him if we lived closer.

Al did have 30 grand coverage, so it will replace his mobile home with what he had. Not gotten to speak with him as he's been gone all day. Was talking with another neighbor & found this much out. His wife passed away in this home, so the silver lining is that he might feel better in a new home. He's always had trouble staying there since Elka passed. She had gone through hip surgery, and a blood clot formed, came loose, and took her life.
He's retired military & his wife was from Germany. He's a kind soul. I'm hoping this will help him restart his life in some way.

To those of us who fear the Lord, all change is filtered through the knowledge that nothing happens that is not under his control. I too feel very badly about what happened to your neighbor. My FIL lost his business (which was his whole lifes' work) to a fire several years ago. He was devastated by the loss, however, It caused some changes in his life that were very good indeed. I hope that your neighbor gets back on his feet soon and that there will be happiness in his life this Christmas season, and please let him know that he is in our thoughts and prayers!
