If there is a planetary gear set behind that safety shroud, it probably is. That does look like a 1 3/8' x 6 spline shaft.

I noticed the seller isn't mentioning it though, so it's probably just an adapter for making it look like a farm tractor. Maybe someone knows the correct answer?

There was a 540 rpm option for the MF1655/1855.

That is some type of add-on gearbox on that Snapper for sure. Looks like a 2,000/540 kit to me.

Its a 540 rpm PTO assembly. It bolts onto the tractor and the shaft on the tractor side is 2000rpm and the other shaft coming out the back is a 540 rpm farm tractor size(13/8)PTO shaft for running grain augers or any farm related PTO driven implement. I have a brand new one in the original box never installed...... Luke

Larry, yeah they were a accessory available through massey/snapper parts department. When it warms up alittle(-12F) out I'll get some pics of mine and put them on here........RALLY has a few more for sale if anyone wants one, have to ask him on the prices. Haven't installed mine yet. Looks to me that with the safety shield installed on the gearbox it would be impossible to use any 3 point mounted implement at the same time?? If the 3 point implement being pulled is 540 pto driven I'm not sure how that would work......things look pretty tight in the 3 point lift arm area for a drive shaft plus it needs to telescope in and out for up and down movement of 3 point hitch. Just don't know as of yet????? Luke
