Hi Guys, My father in-law went to a local garage sale recently and brought home a treasure that I've never seen or heard of before. It's a "Wizard" brand lawn tractor that the gentleman selling had had for years and for the past 10 years has been sitting.

It appears to be completely original and in great shape! It has a Briggs engine and 2 speed (Hi and Low range) transmission. After spending a little time putzing and got it running. I actually couldn't believe how well it runs and cuts grass great! It's a really fun little tractor to run around the yard on.

We've both been searching on line in effort to research this tractor and can't seem to find any reference on the Wizard brand; or photos of other tractors.

Any information and education would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Good question as I realize there were a lot of fiberglass body lawn tractors of this vintage, but this one is all metal.

It was sold by Western Auto under the Wizard brand.

I wanted to say MTD as a manufacturer, but I'm sure they hired more than one company to build for them.

Their biggest was a rebadged 9hundred something MTD if my memory is working.

MH Wards also sold a tractor that they called a "twin 20" . It was a rebadged Simplicity Power Max.

There sure doesn't seem to be much info on Western Auto with respect to their lawn tractors.

Not being familiar with Rugg, I did a quick google search and it sure does look similar!
