For sale is a Wisconsin AB engine. I bought this and got it running. Then I just never had time to do anything else with it. It has been over a year since I last messed with it and figured I would try to find it a new home with some one who could use it. The engine runs good and has a ton of compression. The only problem I know of is that the sediment bowl needs a new gasket because it drips gas. Also included is a NOS gasket set.

I would prefer this to be picked up because of the weight and I don't have time to help with shipping right now.

Asking $80

I have no clue what it was used on. If I had to guess maybe a walkbehind tractor. From what I have found this is only a 2-2.5 hp engine. Even though it's only 2hp it dwarfs a  newer briggs aluminum 3.5hp engine and also weights probably 3 or more times as much as the briggs does. I can pick the briggs up with one hand and the Wisconsin is a real workout to more around lol.

Those Wisconsins are a real workout to lug around.  I have a fleet of them that need to be messed with, and every time I decide to get something out from around them it sure reduces going to any exercise parlor.  I parted out a twin cylinder Wisconsin.  I drew the line with that machine.  While I had it, I had a dedicated hand truck that stayed strapped to the engine.

I was wondering if it was ever used on any of the M/W 2 wheel tractors, I have a few of them and I'm sure that some of them have been repowered.

It could have been used on one of them but I have never done any research to see what this was could have been used on. I have seen Wards branded Wisconsin engines before that came for a walk behind. If you want we can work out a deal for it and you could get it when you come up this way and get the tires.

Sounds good to me Matt.

I will look thru my Catalogs and see if I can find it on one of the tractors.

In some bouncing around the internet I found several references to Waterbury built Wards 2 wheelers circa 1948 that were Wisconsin AB powered.  Midland built units also may have used the AB's as well during that time period.  The AB is a real heavy duty engine for its rated hp.

I used one on a smaller cord wood saw for a couple seasons with good results back before I ever thought to take pics of Grandpa's "old junk" that we still used.......
