Just got home from picking up a 1253 it came with a snow caster and a mowing deck , its going to need some mechanical work done to it and the owner said the gear box for the snow caster has a hole in it from some pin that came loose or something .Cant see much in the dark but here are a few pics

Looks like a nice tractor and I see you got a set of weights too. They can be hard to find and expensive if you don't get them with a tractor. Hopefully the gearbox on the snowcaster is an easy fix.

Is the gear box hard to find if it is shot ?

I'm not sure. I have seen them on ebay from time to time and one of the site sponsors here may have one. If you can't find one I maybe able to talk my brother out of the one he has laying around.

When I got my 1253 it also had a snocaster with it. I gave to another member, Mailman. Not sure if he used it or not. You can try contacting him to see . I see you're from Manchester. I lived there for a year. My sister lives there.

Manchester is not a bad town to be in I have a 1/4 acre lot and 6 tractors lol
