My Cub Cadet has the plastic engine covers, hood and grill.  The PO fixed the side covers by running 1/4" bolts through the snap-together points at the hood and side cover junction, etc.

However, the grill frame is broken at the bottom, and the whole thing will (fairly soon) break off and leave me with the "rat rod" look for my GT.  It will also leave the engine exposed to the weather, etc.

Has anyone replaced these items with a hood, panels, grill, etc. from another machine?  I'm willing to do that, even with "some fabrication and assembly required".  I just don't know what is close...

I wonder if something from the 682/782/882 series or the 1800 series would work???  Any advice would be appreciated.

I've attached a picture of a similar machine to my CC1862.

Regards,

Smitty

Let me know if you find anything out and I'll do the same. I just pick up a 1862 it didn't have any body past the dash.

Will do... it's getting closer to the top of my list... just gotta get the mower for it reassembled and installed, then the covers are next.
