Hi,

I've had (2) 1512's in the past 5 years and I thought they were awesome garden tractors.

One had the factory power steering assist that made it steer very nicely.

The engine is awesome and sized well for the tractor(power and torque).

imo, the biggest negative is the battery placement which limits the size of battery that can be installed.

Even the heavist duty gt sized battery is not big enough or you need to explore a more efficient starter.

I liked the engine well enough that I purchased a Kubota D600 engine for installation in a different GT project.

Chuck

That would be pretty sweet, but I don't think I could make myself cut into this ole girl.

Nice score, got one of those at our farm.  Like the diesel so much we just recently picked up a 1572 Super.  I would put the Category 0 hitch on it.  If you want to use it on sleeve hitch implements or decide to get a sleeve hitch plow you can always get a 3pt to sleeve hitch adapter and use both types of equipment on it.

Nice find!!! That is a beautiful model of GT and that is a nice engine! Now all you need is a 3pt, some ag's and a couple hundred more punds of weight in/on the rear tires!

Snap some pic's of the engine bay if you get a chance.

I just aquired a 782d with mowing deck, 3 point hitch, front hydraulic ports, and 7** hours on it. Just wondering the popularity and value of these tractors?

Adam, sounds like you have a good one with decent hrs on it. They are highly collectable  and don't go cheap. You will enjoy that 15hp Kubota, plenty of power. Enjoy it.
