Microsoft released 8.1 today which is a free upgrade for those that already have Windows 8. I am not a huge fan of 8 but for on the laptop it isn't bad with the touch screen. I am looking forward to the 8.1 update. Not that it is much of a difference but they are adding the start button back. However trying to do the update through the Windows store the download keeps timing out and erroring. I guess everybody and their brother are trying to download it after work. :D

We run into that sometime when a big distro releases and update that has had a lot of attention.  Have fun!

I just tried and it's like PS4 just hit the shelves. Try again on Sunday morning at 4 a.m.

Why the heck do you want the start button back? I like my windows button! All your crap is right there, just hidden.

:poke: :bigrofl: :bigrofl: :bigrofl:

I got a new desktop about a month ago and love it. Whenever I click on FireFox though, it brings the start screen up. (the traditional one) I hate that.

Why is Windows 8.1 newer than Windows 95 (my preferred version)?
