I found this but I don't have the money to buy it unless some rich relative that I don't know about dies, or I win the best looking guy on the street award.

Maybe someone close can buy it so I can drive by and stare longingly out the window of my truck at it.

1981 Sears Craftsman FF/24 50" cut w/ hyd. 3pt. hitch - $900 (Carthage) (Nashville Area TN)
Regretfully having to part with the beast. $900/obo. Ready to work. Needs nothing to mow or work, but being a tinkerer I could tell you everything that I would improve if I had the time.

But first, basic info.

INFO
-1981 Sears Craftsman FF/24
-983cc 24HP 2 cyl. gas engine by Onan
-Hydrostatic Drive, Hydraulic mower & 3 point hitch
-50" inch cut, 3 blade mid mount
-CAT 0&1 3 point hitch. Originally a factory CAT 0, but converted to fit CAT 1 ATTACHMENTS.
-THIS IS A BIG MOWER. It weighs a HALF TON(1000lbs) without me on it.

It has 26x12x12 rear tires that are flipped for added stability, bringing the stance to 4ft. 4inches, and is well over 6ft. long.

Seriously guys, this is a HUGE mower. Its well built(ROPER) and ready to roll.

What I did to it recently...
New paint, belt, blades, oil, oil filter, head light bulbs, rear tires, & ignition

What it needs to run/operate...
NOTHING.

I use it to grade my driveway with a rear blade, mow my lawn, haul firewood, and pull the neighbors S-10 out of the ditch when he had to much too drink.

What could be improved...
-There are two little holes rusted on the mower part. A small tack weld or plate would fix it.
-The hood was damaged from prior owner. It opens and closes fine, just a cosmetic issue.
-Needs grill cover. I was planning on custom making one, but you know...life happens.
-Maybe new seat? Or cover? Its not bad, but not new either.
-Oil dipstick tube that inserts into engine needs a brace. It sits fine as is and doesn't leak oil, but is something I would want to fix eventually.

I'm sure there are more small nit picky things, but can't think of them currently.

Starts first time, every time. Mows great, doesn't burn oil, or leak hydraulic fluid.

Email with phone number.

Sorry uncle Willie, but you appear to be dazed from over work. At the most it's a $500 unit. It's worn out. look closely at it.

Dang Willie! I don't like what he did to the 3-point, he extended about 6". That takes some of the lifting power out of it. Without seeing it in person, not sure I would go asking price. Paint doesn't strike my fancy, but beggars can't be choosy. FF24's are far and few between. That one is 90% complete. Worn items can be fixed. So it's your call on what to pay. I wouldn't say it's worn out, just well used!

The owner has been on MTF this summer. He hasn't owned tractor long, maybe 2-3 months. He bought it pretty rough looking then painted the body.

It's pretty much in range or actually on the low side of price in my area, especially for a 24.

That one is twice the money and three times worse condition than the one I picked up yesterday. Wish I had more spending cash, the guy I bought my FF20 from has 2 more he wants to sell.

Talking about the availability. I don't think I've ever seen a ff for sale around here.

It is a bit high but I never pay the posted price for anything. Last one that was for sale near me had no deck and sold for $500

That it the only FF24 I have ever seen for sale within 500 miles of me

Never seen one, ever! I'm sure there are a few out there but I haven't come across one. Looks almost like it was painted with primer only. Willie, with the amount of iron you encounter you are bound to run into one of those some day soon at a price you can afford.
