I was so glad I got to make it down, my wife made me

Great to see some old faces, got to meet some new ones.

Ground was pretty hard, I tried to set up the sleeve 10" on the Sears, switched back to the 8" factory plow, I wasn't going to fight it all day.

I don't think many of use could make a very good furrow, it was so hard dirt kept falling back into the furrow. I know I made it a rough ride for the guys behind me....sorry Grumpy :D

Of course, the biggest thanks go out to Daniel and Theresa for all the work, food, and hospitality they put into this to make it a great day. :dancingbanana:  :rocker2:

It is also nice to still see some good old "hand shake", "your word is good enough" people around. The guy from Tenn Daniel mentioned, David , sold me a Sears " plow and just told me to mail him a check. Hopefully he joins the forum, him and his Richard were good guys.

Looking forward to next year....if my back quits hurting, could hardly move this morning :D  but it was worth it!

We stayed overnight in a campground in Elizabethtown, and right now it's raining, so the HMS Rainmaker's record is still intact

Looks like the sacrifice of the two camels and an iguana worked.  The rain held off until after the plow day :D :D :D

I had a great time.  Had a few minor problems but got all of those resolved, and managed to turn some dirt.

I don't think I had the plow fine tuned, so the HDT was probably working harder than it had to.  It still didn't do all that bad.  I was running the 12" plow at full depth, and there were places that just flat out stopped me.  Most of the time I could back up a foot or so to get a running start and get through it, but it sure made the HDT snort, and tested the traction of the Ancla tires. It didn't help that the throttle lever isn't as tight as it should be and it would creep down.  Every now and then I'd look at the tach and see that I was at 2500 RPM instead at the 3000 RPM 'working speed'. Bumping it back up to working speed definitely helped.

Dan'l was busier than a buzz saw in a pine knot, and was helping everyone in sight.

The food was excellent, and made for a nice break in the middle of the day.

I especially enjoyed talking to Dan'l's dad.  He is a real hoot, and a font of information.

As for pictures, I didn't take a single one.  However Mrs. Buzz took a few from inside the Rainmaker so I'll post them.

I just checked out all the pictures and video.    Now I am jealous of all who attended, and glad that everyone had a good time.  There  appeared to be a good representation  of the different brands of our hobby.  Maybe next year we can attend ourselves.  Rick

I think 'focus' is the word you're looking for there.

I'll mail that cash I promised you if you did that tomorrow morning.

Been out gathering tables, coolers, and the like.  Once I got to lifting/loading, I realized how tired I am!  Maybe just lazy!  :rolling:

Gotta say, picking stuff up was kinda sad, as it was a lot of fun, and a long time till our next one.

There were a lot that hoped to make it that didn't, so maybe next year will be the largest yet.  I've not had time to compare notes, but we at least met last year's tractor count, or exceeded it by a tad.  No matter the head count, it's ALWAYS a GREAT time!

  Weather was beautiful as well.

Thanks again everyone for making it such a success and so much fun.

I seriously doubt there is any laziness in you, you were hopping like a kangaroo yesterday!

I don't look at it like a long time till the next one, I see enough time to actually be ready this time.

Daniel, the thanks need to be going to you and Teresa, I can only imagine how much work this was, on top of the usual end-of-summer work of a farmer! THANKS!!!

I like to help people keep their stuff going, and next year to make it even easier to help, I'm loading my trailer with my generator, 165amp wire welder, small air compressor, and variety of things commonly needed.  We all have issues with our equipment, so I'll be ready for most things next year!

We left out close to 5 this morning. Currently having lunch in Clarksburg, Wv. I think we have about 3 more hours to go. Haven't had to drop a gear on the hills yet on the way back.

Sounds like you are making good time, George. Stay safe!

Please ask Mrs Nut if I can get a copy of the group pictures, my wife wants them. Thanks!
