I saw Bob and Connie Simmons today. He said he wanted to come but they won't be able to make it. He said they had to stay closer to home. He really has his hands full with Connie.

Yes, Scott told me Bob hinted he couldn't make it.  Not gonna be many Hogs here, but we'll have what we have.  Life has kicked a lot of us this year.  Bob's situation is tough to say the least.

I got a little time finally tonight to set up my 12" plow on Hogzilla.  I think I have it set close enough, but I can adjust in the field.  I hope to take it out to Dad's tomorrow to do a test plow to see if there is enough trash in the field to warrant raking & rolling off.  I sure hope not, as I am still covered with work to be done on the farm.  I have to go pick up the porta-potti, get tables out there, and lots of other things done, but I think it'll all come together.

Been out this morning trying to ready the Bush Hog herd for the Plow Day/Hog Reunion.  Got all of them fired, including the rough old V4-8 I got from Doug (DH1).  That one gave me a lot of grief pulling that starter rope, seemingly forever.  Was getting white puffs out the exhaust, but no fire.  Made the job a WHOLE LOT easier once I flipped the toggle kill switch on the dash!  :wallbanging:  :rolling:

Anyway, they just need cleaned up a little, then hauled out there.  I'll have all 3 of my JBI's, the diesel HD12, restored D4-10, almost restored V4-6, the V4-8, and my T-63.  The S4242 3-point rotary will be attached to the original condition JBI that it came with when I bought it, and likely did when new.  It's the only one anybody has seen to this point, but no doubt more are out there somewhere.  I do think it qualifies for the word "rare" though.

Weather right now is calling for beautiful weather.  NOAA says 78 for Friday, and 81 for Saturday, mostly sunny both days.  No signs of rain at this point.

Hope I get a porta-pot in time or else I'll have to set out 5 gallon buckets with straw bale privacy walls.  :bigrofl:

Been out test plowing.  Looks like I'll be ok without raking & rolling, which takes a load off me.  It will require removing coulters, as I plugged with mine in place, but after removing it, never had a plug again.  Ground is hard boys, so bring it & bring it tough!

I'm going back out in a few, so I'll get some pics.

Works for me, I don't know how to adjust it anyway!

Here Hogzilla after opening furrows on the one field we plowed last year, on the side we parked our trucks & trailers.  We'll be plowing closer to the barn this time, leaving out the part with the waterway that we needed to lift the plows to cross.

This year we'll park just across the driveway in the bottleneck of the other field we'll have to plow.  This field is almost 3 times the length of the first field in pics above.

In the pic below, it goes past the top of the rise all the way to the main highway.

The tree to the left is about where I had the porta-pot last year, at the rear of Mom & Dad's back yard area.  The section of field just to this side of the tree is where we'll have parking.  The Bush Hogs will be parked in the yard area just past the tree.

I have a guy coming from the Memphis area to plow on plow day, and he's wanting to buy a 12" three point Brinly if anyone has one they want to bring to sell.  He currently has a 10" sleeve style and wants to upgrade.
