Cub 100 is a cool tractor. put a fine spline carrier and axles in it. and make sure the top shaft is harded. They twist if there not harden. Im building one with 30 mm axles and fine 2 piece carrier. Im putting a honda twinn water cooled 13 hp on it.

And where would i get all this stuff? how much am i looking at?

Check ebay, craigslist, other sites and the pulling sites,   To start with you could either band or pin the rear both help some. The two peice carrier is stronger (But to start with that helps the weak cub rears) lol,   Pinning is the easiest way to go

Ebay is the way to go. What you have to do is take your ring gear off and put it on the 2 piece carrier. you see them under cub cadet pulling on ebay. you want the 1 inch fine spline axles. you can get the 30 mm but you have to get the bearing tubes, and machine one down. I have broken the 2 piece too. took the bearing boss right off it. so I machined up a billet steel outter hat that takes bigger bearing too.2013-09-20133402_zpsd27cafc7.jpg2013-09-26113454_zps5e7bb2fc.jpg2013-09-24214640_zps2e6eb455.jpg

Well this has peaked my interest as I am a machinist by trade and have access to lathes and bridgeports for personal use. I guess i need to have the tractor apart to understand what you are talking about.

I usually get stuff off ebay or if you can find a rear with the fine already in. I think 582 had it in them?

Chris, I know some of the gear model had the fine splines in them. There's also the generic model of the 582 (those white and yellow ones) they had the aluminum housing but came with the fine rear in them. And yes your right, you can also get them out of the hyrdro's as well
