The other engine I had has good compression so I installed it. As per po it smokes alot. The carb is junk but it works enough I drove it out if the shop @ low idle.

The linkages are all messed up as well. Alot to fix to get it running decent but it seems like it will be a good gt.

David, this tractor needs to be the one you settle down with.  It will make one heck of a tractor, I know for a fact.  Strong Sundstrand hydro's in these things, and I pulled my "twin 10"  plows with mine too.  Plenty of power & hydro to do any job!

I know. I fell in love with the foot hydro on that cub train wreck I had. This one may be a keeper.

What if I hate it when I plow? If it does as good as I think it will I'll be keeping this. It's the most unmolested gt I've had. I need to find out why the original engine has no compression(supposedly the rod is from a lower hp engine and is to short) The pto doesn't work either. I should have the carb I ordered installed and the few wiring issues fixed mid week. I then need to retro fit the wh front blade bracket to this so I can level the garden. Smoking or not I should have good seat time this coming weekend.

I'm glad you got the snappers engine running! Both of those machines are really solid. The tins are in good shape, the rims are in good shape. Steering is loose, but that is typical with dang near every older GT I've run across.

I finally pulled the Frankencub up to the garage, can't decide if I want to fix the steering and leave it a drive until I'm ready for the engine or not. The more I look at the ugly old thing the more I want to swap the 140's oil puking thumper into it and leave it as a toy. Sure would be nice if I could steer it. Dig up the front side PTO pulley if you get a chance.

I still feel bad about those lines. I'll do some digging on those pulleys. I usually keep stuff like that.

I've got half a mind to put that extra 12hp in the snapper.

Don't worry... I'll send you a bill :)

Why not put it in there, at least then you can move it under it's own power.

Getting Spindles from Me.... ????? :say_what:

Just kidding   You get all the belts too, I cannot use them, 3 of them look like they've never been installed.

Glad to hear you got it at least running.

Oh yeah. I'm fairly certain the three of us have gotten screwed. Like Bobby and I were saying...junk for junk.
