Looks a lot like the sunstrad setup in my Ariens.

If so, its not so bad to work on.

I'm not worried about finding any implements. I am going to try to use it on a feed mill of mine. I'll start a thread on that at some point. It's there any way to gear it down to the usable 540?

there was actually a factory reduction drive that bolted on the back, but I'm only seen pictures of 2 of them. I wouldn't want to imagine price tag if you did find one.

Despite me but holding up my end of the deal exactly as promised Bobby and I still traded. I got this he got the cub project I had at plow day.

It's a clean un molested tractor.

Better pictures when I get it out side.

They guy put a rod out of a smaller engine and was to short. Details are not clear if it was this one or the one off the snapper. I've got a battery charging and I'm going to see if I can get it started. If anyone has a rock shaft that would fit this let me know.

Cool Massey! A little TLC and you'll be plowing with it.

If Scott hadn't sold me the HD-12 Hog, that Massey was coming to my place.  Glad it found a home.

Spark plug was loose and there was no oil. Put a different coil and a new plug. Adjusted the points and got a little spark. Cleaned the carb bowl. It's flowing fuel out the inlet so I have to mess with that. She's a no start today. All the wiring looks good. From what I can tell a unmolested tractor.

Also the fuel pump looks new(plastic) I have a cheap compression tester which showed nothing. It does blow my finger off the spark plug hole when I had my finger over it. I suck at rebuilding carbs so that should be fun

I sure hope you can bring her back to life. I think she has a LOT of life left in her and will be a great GT.

Oh and don't worry, I'll get even with you... I saw a thing or two around there that we might have to work out a deal on. :smilewink:

Replaced the battery cables and fixed a few other little wiring issues. Throttle and choke cables are good to go. Compression looks a little low so it looks like I'll be pulling this engine. This one must have the supposed short rod which means the other one should run but smoke.

They're a great machine, you'll be happy with it once you

get it going. I use mine all the time.

Did you get a deck with it.
