If a person could talk him down 3-400, you'd have something. They are pretty well built by owner's accounts.

Nice looking Yanmar, but definitely high on price. I've seen more than a few of those in top condition with 3pt lifts around the $1000-1200 range.

Cvans is absolutely correct about the parts issue.

I had the YM146 which is the same model. I agree too much- at $850-1000 probably a good deal. No 3pt and rear pto reduces its value. The Yanmar motor is solid, seems like the water pump may be one of the parts hard to come by. Some of the decks were made by Case. Not sure about this deck ,but the early 48" decks I know we're made by Case. When I restored my deck, I used Case parts.
