I'm planning on fixing up the 48" deck over the winter.  It has some rust spots that need patched and needs painted.  One of the outside spindles is completely shot, bearings, pulley, arbor, everything.  Anyone know the best place to find a good or rebuildable used spindle assembly?

Thanks

Jeff

I don't know how much is interchangable between decks but when I got the 2418 it had some deck spindles , very rusty but they might be usable for you , you can have then if they will work . Do you have yours apart ?

No I don't.  The center and the other outer spindle are still good.  Could you post a pic of the 2418 spindles?  Thanks

Now I'm not sure be what deck this is for because it looks to be the same length as the outer one on my 1968 Jim Dandy 48"  Anyway here it is , looks  like it wasn't used but someone tried to remove the rusted bearing

Yeppers, that'll work.  How much do you want for it?  Thank you.

I  was  going to try taking the bearing off for you before sending and looked in the manual to see if that part on the bottom of the bearing is part of it or maybe seal .  The manual shows a different spindle with one large nut holding it on but this one uses to bolts. Just wanted to make sure it's going to work for you before sending it.

That looks identical to the one on the good spindles.  That'll work.  Thanks Al

Great it must have been a spare for the deck that was on the 2418 before i got it . The fellow gave me some extra parts and I was hoping it was going to work for you . Too late today so I,ll try Mon.
