All the FF's should have the good eaton hydro unit. So I really dout its bad. Most using them were harry home owners  that didn't have a clue of thier capacity , or engine oil capacity LOL .  The mower deck spindles got noisy and they would park them and buy another one ....

Put that hydro in your Ford along with a Kohler V twin and you will be very impressed! And the Ford will be lighter too, as the V twin is actually lighter than the single!! By a LOT!!

The Ford was where I had thought of using it when you said it was a good hydro as it is a noisy sucker. As far as the V-Twin, gotta find one first. I want to get the other FF going right now. It will be nice to see how it does. Only 833 hrs on the clock for it. The P220 Onan I plan to put in it only has 500+/- hrs on it. Should make a nice machine. It still has the original wiring in the FF.

Very nice! Only thing that I would have to change on the FF would be the lever to foot controls.

Not the lever on the trans, the controls from lever control, to foot control. I really like the controls on my Fords the best, I have a lever operated MTD machine and it is not nearly as convienient.
