About a month ago I spotted an auction listing for a mf16 and decided to go see if I could pick it up at a reasonable price, let's just say I was rather unprepared for what it finally brought $1150 which was way out of my price range, the next day while attending another auction I ran into a fellow auction junkie and told him the story from the day before and he promptly replied if your wanting a massey I have a nonrunning mf 12 I'll take $100 for to which I promptly said sold! So much for the background story now to the pictures!

A few questions,is this weight box optional equipment or homemade? This is all I got as far as the deck goes,I'm not into massey but something tells me I'm missing some linkages to attach it to the tractor, can someone tell me what is missing?
and here's a pic of the $1150 mf16

I'd say the weight box is actually a homemade battery box. Looks like a way to mount a car battery on there. Just a guess.
GREAT FIND!! I grew up mowing our yard with a Massey 12 gear drive. They were well made and I like how the garden tractors were designed like the big tractors.

Looks like you're missing a few brackets and the front hook up too. I think I took some measurements of the stuff but lets see if there isn't some of it hanging at your friends house on a nail first.
and two it's probably hanging there doing nothing anymore
Looks like you have 1-6 and are missing 7+8 of the left pic and missing #1 in the right pic.
If you need measurements, Lemme know.

Sadly I got all the parts he had gotten from the original owners family, other than the deck parts everything else looks to be there. It's really a shame about the missing deck parts as this tractor was sold new from a now closed dealer that was about 15 miles from my house and as the story goes it has been barn kept for most of it's life. The only reason I bought this tractor is like Gtractor said I remember mowing with the mf7 we had when I was a kid and I just had to have a massey in my collection!
MH81,if I can't find the parts or a parts tractor I'll surely get in touch for those measurements!

Wow, That 16 sold very well for the condition. It doesn't look like it has 3pt hitch either.

You're correct that it didn't have the 3pt setup,it was kind of funny as the bidding was between 2 bidders and once the bidding got past $900 or so one bidder stopped bidding and had his wife take over, she dropped out at $1100.I'm guessing his strategy was let her bid so he didn't get in trouble for paying to much for it!

The tractor looks to be in nice condition.
Have you discovered the problem, as to it being "not running"?
Keep your eye on Ebay, you may find the deck brackets.

Hey PS this GT has been on fleebay for several times. PM this guy & make him an offer on his deck. From the looks of the GT the deck shell is probably scrap but the parts you need are usually in good shape. If this don't work out just enjoy what you got & this stuff comes up from time to time. http://www.ebay.com/...=item565b6f1bb5
