I just lucked upon a Bush Hog D4-7.  It is complete but somehow it has a S8-d with some weird carb in it.  I would really like to locate a complete and running S7-d to get it more correct.  I am not that familiar with Wisconsin Specs, so I am unsure if all S7-d's will work, or if there were some differences.  I would even take a rebuildable one if it is complete.

Thanks

Tim

Tim,

Sorry for not responding sooner. The motors for the bush hogs required a specific crank so it would need to be a "made for bush hog motor".

I sent you a PM.

I responded to your pm.  Disregard my confusion between Eastern and Western NC.  I'm somewhat puzzled by the S8d in mine.  Did they ever have S8ds, it sure looks correct, all but the serial and model #'s and the messed up carb set-up.  I will get some pics out in the BushHog forum maybe tomorrow.

Thanks again

Tim

Pictures always good. Helps us see what is original and what has been added. I am not aware of a S8D in one, for me it would be a first to hear of.

Also please let me know your serial number of the tractor, I don't have that many D4-7 on the list so it may help in determining how many were made. Welcome to the Bush Hog owners club!
