This is a very rare, Speedex D4 lever steer garden tractor. The D4 Speedex is believed to be the first 4 wheel garden tractor ever produced. The Speedex Company was created when the Pond's (Cecil, Elmer and Harold) parted ways in the late 1940's. Cecil and Elmer went their own direction creating the Pond tractor company which later became Wheel Horse. This particular tractor is about 90-95% restored with some items that still need to be finished. The engine setup (much like later model Speedex's) has the engine slide back and forth to tighten and loosen the drive belt. It is my understanding (with limited literature on these tractors) that they had either a Clinton or early Briggs 5S. Apparently, the slide plates on this tractor (which are incredibly basic - simple angle iron) are for the Clinton and not the Cunningham Briggs I have on it. You will need to make two new brackets for the motor to work properly. I simply don't have the time to finish it. When it was restored everything was sandblasted, primed and painted. The gear cases have not been re-filled with fluid. The intent was for this to be a show tractor only and I did not want it leaking (over time) knowing that it was going to always be parked and/or sitting. $725 or best reasonable offer.  8six0/7two9/six8zero5

Glad its going to a good home Adam. When it arrives, let's talk thru what needs to be done with the engine plate and don't forget that there is no fluid in the gear cases - that's the way it was when I bought it - and never filled them, so be gentle shifting it just to avoid nicking any of the worm gears.
